C/SIDE Classes

One of the most difficult issues partners and clients face when building a development team responsible for customizing or implementing NAV is how to bring new developers up to speed in C/SIDE, perhaps without much outside assistance. These classes are designed to introduce all the necessary elements the student needs to be familiar with to be successful as a NAV developer. While not taking the place of a senior staff locally available, these classes not only have comprehensive introductory material, but they also offer a senior NAV developer as the instructor.

One Week Intensive Introductory Development Class

Designed for end user development teams this class covers selected topics from the two week Microsoft Dev courses. It is designed to allow companies with development licenses to take over some or all modifications to NAV. This training is not available anywhere else, and can be customized to suit your needs.

C/SIDE Introduction

This intensely hands on class is designed to allow the student to see and work with the whole development environment. Through a series of demonstrations and labs the student will work with Forms, Pages, Tables, Codeunits, Reports, Dataports, XMLPorts and the CAL programming language. While this course is patterned after the Microsoft course, and some of their material will be used, there will be lots of extra material. The extra material has been developed and tested through many years and proven to be effective in helping students get comfortable with the new system. Students who take this class usually pass the Microsoft exam for certification first time out.

C/SIDE Development

While the first course is designed to teach the student the way around the development system, this course is designed to teach how to successfully add functionality to and modify base functionality in NAV. Through real world projects and various demonstrations, the student will see how data flows through NAV and how to modify it. Also covered will be Web Services, SQL server for NAV and the new report writing tools for Visual Studio. This class is more closely patterned after the Microsoft class and, since the instructor wrote the current Certification Exam, students usually pass it after taking the class.

Both these five-day classes are programming intensive. In both classes there will be a heavy emphasis on programming standards.

One Week Intensive Advanced Development Class

Designed for partner and end user development teams this class covers selected topics in more depth than can be covered in the other classes and is intended for developers with significant NAV experience. The topics covered can be selected to fit the needs of the students. For example the course could be used to bring the development team of a partner up to speed on the skills needed for development in the RTC for 2009 or 2013. Also the class could be used around the needs of a specific project. This training is not available anywhere else, and can be customized to suit your needs.

Price

Cost per student for all classes is $2495 per class, three or more students from the same company is $2295 per student.

Audience Profile

These courses are intended for developers with at least 2 years’ experience programming business applications with an Object Oriented programming language.
