Files included in an Easy Security release

The download for NAV Easy Security contains multiple files used for installing NAV Easy Security.

"Conversion and Integration" folder contains multiple folders. Each folder contains information on upgrading Easy Security. See the "README FIRST.txt" file for more information about each folder.

"Language Modules NAV 2009 R2 and earlier" folder contains a variety of "Language Module ES1.41 2.60-6.00.10 ZZZ.flm" files. Use the function under Tools, Language Module, Import after selecting the objects to import the language to. It is not a problem if the version number is lower than the main file.

"Language Modules NAV 2013 and later" folder contains a variety of "Language Module ES1.41 7.00 ZZZ.flm" files. Use the function under Tools, Language Module, Import after selecting the objects to import the language to. It is not a problem if the version number is lower than the main file.

"NAV XXXX (x.xx.xx)" folders contain the Easy Security objects for each NAV release from NAV 2.60 to current. Most folders contain a folder with additional Easy Security MenuSuites. The default MenuSuite for Easy Security is 52 and 1052. The additional MenuSuites can be used if the Easy Security default number has already been used in a customer's database. The range (51-60) is for the Classic Client and (1051-1060) is for the RoleTailored Client. The Version number can be lower than the main file. This is not a problem. Only one of the additional MenuSuites should be imported.

A .fob file "ESn.nn.nn" contains the main Easy Security objects. A second .fob file "ESACC Empty Objects ESn.nn.nn" contains 4 Easy Security "empty" codeunits. The "empty" codeunits are added during the installation of "Field Level and Data Security". These objects are in a file by themselves because they should NEVER be imported if they already exist in the database.

"SQL Profiler" folder contains NAV Easy Security templates for various versions of SQL. Import the appropriate version of template into the SQL Profiler that is to be used for recording of permissions.

"_README FIRST_.txt" file contains additional information about the files in the Easy Security download.

"addin_e.chm" Online Help files contains installation instructions and field level help.

"ES1.41 Easy Security Improvements.docx" file contains information on the improvements and new features in this version.

Online Help:

The Online Help for Mergetool.com products can be installed like any other additional help for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The steps involve copying files to the appropriate folder and will require administrative rights in later versions of Windows. Ensure that files with similar extensions exist in the folder where the Online Help is copied. The client/service tier needs to be restarted for the Online Help to be active.

"NAV 2009 R2 and Earlier Online Help.zip" file contains Online Help files for Easy Security.

Classic Client:
Copy the files "addin_e.chm" and "addin_e.hh" from the downloaded file. Paste both objects in the ENU folder in the following path.

32-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\ENU"
64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Classic\ENU"

RoleTailored Client:
The Online Help for the RoleTailored client needs to be added for the Service Tier and the RoleTailored Client. The "addin_e.chm" is for the client and "addin_e.hh" for the service tier.

Copy "addin_e.chm"
RoleTailored Client 32-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client\en-US"
RoleTailored Client 64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client\en-US"

Copy "addin_e.hh"
Service Tier 32-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Service\ENU"
Service Tier 64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Service\ENU"

"NAV 2013 Online Help.zip" file contains Online Help files for Easy Security. Copy the files "addin_e.chm" and "addin_e.hh" from the downloaded file. Paste the objects in the en-US folder in the following path.

RoleTailored Client 32-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Client\en-US"
RoleTailored Client 64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Client\en-US"

Service Tier 32-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\Service\ENU"
Service Tier 64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\Service\ENU"

If there are multiple Service Tiers for the NAV installation, the "addin_e.hh" file will need to be copied to each of the Service Tier folders.

"NAV 2013 R2 and Later Online Help.zip" file contains Online Help files for Easy Security. For NAV 2013 R2 and later, copy the files from the html folder to the en folder located in the NAV Help Server folder. By default, this location is:

"C:\inetpub\wwwroot\DynamicsNAVxxHelp\help\en"

Online Help is only available in English, but often English help is better than no help. By copying the help files to other language folders, the help can be available for the other languages.

The 3 text files contain Easy Security demo Permission Groups and Permission Sets. One or all of these files can be imported into the company that will be used to work with Easy Security. However, the "SoD Permission Sets ES1.41.10.txt" file must be imported before importing the "SoD Permission Groups ES1.41.10.txt file". But the "Quick Security Permission Groups ES1.41.10.txt" file is not dependent on either of the other files and can be the only one imported if desired.

The "SoD Permission Sets ES1.41.10.xlsx" file is an Excel spreadsheet that shows how the Easy Security Permission Sets have been grouped into Permission Groups. This file can be used as a template to work on other areas of security.
